Drive, Plants 50 Saplings to Promote Environmental Conservation
Sri Ganganagar, July 31:
With the objective of transforming environmental conservation into a people’s
movement, Birla Public School, Sri Ganganagar, organized a grand tree plantation
drive on Friday under Dainik Bhaskar’s ‘7.5 million Trees’ Mega Campaign. The
programme was inaugurated by honourable Mr. Ajay Kumar Aggarwal, Deputy
Director, BIT Pilani, who planted the first sapling. On this occasion, 50 saplings of
different species were planted across the school campus. In recognition of the
school’s active participation in the campaign, Dainik Bhaskar presented the
institution with a Certificate of Appreciation.
The programme was attended by Dr. Nitesh Kumar Singh, Principal, Mrs. Sushila
Saharan, Vice Principal, Mrs. Akanksha Khullar, Headmistress, along with
members of the teaching and non-teaching staff. All the participants planted
saplings and pledged to protect and nurture them, reaffirming their commitment to
environmental conservation.
Addressing the gathering, honourable Mr. Ajay Kumar Aggarwal said that
environmental conservation is one of the greatest necessities of our time. He
emphasized that merely planting trees is not enough; their protection and proper
nurturing are equally important and are the moral responsibility of every citizen. He
further stated that such initiatives not only spread awareness about environmental
conservation but also lay a strong foundation for a cleaner, greener, and more
sustainable future for the coming generations.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Nitesh Kumar Singh, Principal, said, “Trees are
nature’s priceless gift and the very foundation of human life. Protecting the environment is
not merely a responsibility but also our moral obligation towards future generations. If every
individual plants a tree and takes responsibility for its care, the dream of a greener and safer
future can certainly become a reality.”
Mrs. Sushila Saharan, Vice Principal, remarked, “Tree plantation becomes meaningful
only when it is accompanied by a commitment to protect and nurture the saplings.
Sensitivity towards nature and responsible environmental practices pave the way for
sustainable development. We must continue our efforts to promote a green culture among all
sections of society.”
Mrs. Akanksha Khullar, Headmistress, said, “Every sapling planted today is a promise
of a secure tomorrow. Instilling the values of environmental conservation among students is

the need of the hour. When the younger generation embraces nature conservation as its
responsibility, only then can we build a clean, green, and environmentally balanced society.”
The programme concluded with all participants taking a pledge to plant more trees
and ensure their regular care and maintenance. The school administration expressed
confidence that such public awareness initiatives would continue to strengthen
students’ sensitivity towards nature, social responsibility, and their commitment to
sustainable development.
